The Interior Ministry has prepared a proposal for offering permission to establish sacrificial animal markets in the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic, as per the reports of local media.
As per the proposals, the sacrificial animal markets would be set up in all the major cities of the country. These markets would be established at the entry and exit points of the cities.
There would be a complete ban on the sale of sacrificial animals within the cities. Security personnel would be stationed at the entrance points of the markets.
The ministry mentioned that proposals for Eid ul Azha prayers would be revealed after consulting with the ulema.
Proposals have also been drafted for the disposal of the waste of the sacrificial animals.
It is important to mention that the government of Punjab has formed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to set up the cattle markets and to hold collective sacrifice of the animals before Eid ul Azha amid the coronavirus epidemic.
The decision on the SOPs was made by the sub-committee of the Punjab cabinet and it would be delivered to the federal government for final approval.
