Govt. Plans to Launch e-Building Portal System

For the protection and well being of the economy, many steps have been taken by the government sectors. The chief secretary Jawwad Rafique has accepted the development of an e-building project. Under the plan, 445 local bodies which include the Metropolitan Corporation and the developmental authorities would be working and be restricted to approve the projects in the span of 30 days.

The e-Building portal system is to be launched only for the easing up of the businesses that are associated with the metropolitan corporation and 445 other local bodies. Under the venture, the authorities would be needed to submit their building completion certificates in 1 month and similarly, the land conversion plan must also be approved within the span of 45 days.

The development work on the new portal system is to commence from next week. The Punjab government has taken the decision to offer the IT services with the coordination of the Punjab Information and Technology Board. Through this e-building portal system, the project for the commercial, residential, semi-commercial, and industrial buildings would be approved in 1 month.

In order to get approval on the e-building portal, all the High-rise buildings must get the NOCs from the various departments like Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency, Water and Sanitation Agency, and the environmental sector. If the NOCs are not provided then the authorities cannot submit the objects in 7 days of the application submission.

Once the submission is done of the building layout, the head drafts would be needed to approve it in one day whereas the Patwari would approve the application in the span of 2 days. Once the procedure reaches completion, the assistant municipal officer would proceed with his part in 2 days and the deputy municipal planning officer in 3 days.

All the applicants could get information about the building plans from the e-portal, email, WhatsApp, and the calling centres.
