The Punjab police is finally going to get rid of their olive-green, postman-like uniform in near future. This is like an act of Tabdeeli that has hit upon the Punjab police.
Dr Shahbaz Gill—the chief spokesperson of Chief Minister of Punjab has unveiled this on Twitter account on Wednesday evening.
The chief spokesperson informed that the old police uniform would again be restored from the mid of 2019.
He tweeted that the old police uniform would be restored from the 1st of July. He expressed hope that may everyone like it.
The ex-Punjab Chief Minister—Shahbaz Sharif who is now behind bar in a NAB case launched the present uniform back in the year 2017.
Imran Khan—the current Prime Minister, before gaining power in the centre, has many a time, criticised and humiliated Shahbaz for this move joking that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like police uniform reforms does not come with any variations in uniform colour.
According to the media reports, the provincial government has asked for suggestions about the new design for the police uniform. The final decision would be taken after consulting with the higher authorities in the police department.
