Govt Mulls Launching its Own ‘Govt-App’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has decided to launch its own Govt-App with the aim to channel all official communication and get rid of all the usual apps like WhatsApp.

As per a decision, taken during the cabinet meeting that was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, “An indigenous application [called] Govt-APP may be developed. All communication related to the government if required may be undertaken using the said APP instead of other OTT services such as WhatsApp, Viber and Facebook messenger. The data will be stored in Pakistan.”

Furthermore, in the meeting, it was decided that the launching of public interest initiatives under the program, a national professional networking portal will be established for the Pakistani market. It might have back-end capability with few of the leading professional networking websites.

The unique feature it will have as a national service and grouping of members would be its originality. It helps connect with the professions of their respective domains. Furthermore, a portal will help in maintaining a comprehensive roster of Pakistani professionals globally.
