The government has announced that wearing masks is essential at the public places, markets, and also in the public means of transportation in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Hamza Shafaat, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad tweeted that wearing or keeping the faces covered at all public places in the federal capital has been declared a compulsion on all.
He also said that the civil administration would be visiting the bus stops, mosques, offices, markets and streets to check and ensure that whether the imposed directives are being implemented or not, especially the instruction of wearing masks.

He warned people against the failure to wear masks when getting out of their homes, the deputy commissioner said that a fine up to Rs.3,000 could be imposed on the person not obeying the orders or the violator could also be sent to prison under Section 188 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Earlier, Dr. Zafar Mirza, the Special Assistant to PM tweeted that the face masks are essential to be worn by all while in the crowded places, bazaars, mosques, public transport, flights, and in malls.
He added that the instructions for wearing masks have been reviewed and a must section has been added.
