The federal government has released the SOPs for curbing the spread of COVID-19 among students after the possible reopening of the educational institutions throughout the nation from the 15th of September.
It was previously announced by the government that the educational institutions would be reopened from the mid of September considering the constant reduction in the number of coronavirus cases in the nation. But, a final decision on the matter of the resumption of the educational activities would be taken on the 7th of September.
As per the new SOPs, there would be no assembly in the schools in the morning and the students would go to their classes directly. The directives also proposed that parents must not depend on public transport for dropping their children to school.

It also asks the educational institutions to make sure that the students are screened properly at their entry to schools and not to permit the students suffering from cough, fever and cold to come to schools.
Schools have been directed to divide each class into 2 sections and to teach each section separately in different shifts of hours each. The break time would also be observed in the shifts.
The SOPs also encourage limited use of canteen and urges parents to send home-made food with their kids for their lunch. Schools have also been told to make arrangements to handle any kind of emergency situation.
The health related SOPs would be imposed by the educational institutions’ administration in consultation with the local administration. Authorities would also be providing the directives to the administrators of the educational institutes.
