The Rolling Spectrum Strategy 2020-23 has been launched by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque.
The minister, speaking at a ceremony stated that it was a major achievement of the IT ministry as it had finalised the Rolling Spectrum Strategy in consultation with all the stakeholders.
According to the report, he said the government, in line with its vision of Digital Pakistan, gave the highest priority to the issues faced by the telecom sector, particularly spectrum requirement.
The minister stressed that the Rolling Spectrum Strategy would be helpful to telecom companies in formulating their business plans.
“It will also form the basis for 5G technology in the country.”
Haque emphasized, “Transparency is vital in the spectrum auction.”
The Rolling Spectrum Strategy provides a future roadmap for spectrum allocation as well as spectrum-related policy reviews that are anticipated to take place from 2020 to 2023. The publication of the spectrum roadmap will help commercial operators with their network planning investments.
