The government has increased petrol price by Rs5 per litre. It was notified on Wednesday.
The new price for diesel has been increased by Rs5.37 while the price of light diesel has been hiked by Rs6.48.
The new prices of petroleum products are as follows:
- Petrol—Rs 97.83 per litre
- Diesel—Rs 112.94 per litre
- Kerosene Oil—Rs 86.50 per litre
- Light Diesel—Rs 82.84 per litre
The approval for these new prices has been given by the finance ministry and it has been put into effect from 12 am.

Yesterday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sent a summary to the Ministry of Petroleum suggesting them to increase the price of petrol by 9 Rs per litre.
As per sources, the body had recommended a hike of 13 Rs per litre in the price of diesel and an increase of Rs6.47 in the price of kerosene oil.
The government on the 30th of August had decreased the petroleum prices by as much as s 6 rupees for the month of September, as per a notification.
The price of petrol was decreased by Rs2.41 making it come down to Rs92.83 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel was decreased by Rs6.37 at Rs106.57 per litre.
In the month of October, even the price of CNG experienced a sharp surge, which was not at all liked by the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA). They called the move as destructive both for the CNG industry and for the people.
