The visa validity for foreigners living in Pakistan has been extended by the government. It has been extended till August 31st amidst the coronavirus pandemic. A notification has been issued in this regard by the Ministry of Interior. The notification stated that this proposal is valid for those foreign nationals whose visa expired since March 15.
“The Competent Authority has been pleased to further extend the validity of all Visa types till 31st August 2020, issued to foreign nationals, who are currently in Pakistan and their visas have been expired since March 15, 2020.”
Furthermore, the notification is forwarded to the Foreign Office, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Immigration Department and the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports in order to take the necessary steps in this regard.
Earlier on Dr. Moeed Yusuf the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security made the announcement that the government is going to permit all airlines to conduct flight operations from June 20 to bring back the stranded Pakistanis.
Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis was also present at the press conference alongside Dr. Moeed. Dr. Moeed revealed that all the travelers will be scanned at the airports and they will be asked about their travel history.
Also, the special assistant said that all the passengers that return would have to go into self-quarantine for 14 days after their return to Pakistan.
