On Tuesday, the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) declared that the government has not approved any increase in the prices of the medicines.
One of the spokesperson from the ministry said that some of the media sources have been reporting about the increase in the prices of the medicines but the government has not yet given any approval for the increase in the prices.
As per the reports, the spokesperson from the NHS (National Health Services) Ministry called all these reports as baseless.
The DRAP (Drug Regulatory Authority) increased the prices of 253 medicines by up to 22-35%.
Noor Mohammad Mahar President of Pakistan Drug Lawyers Forum (PDLF) asked the Federal government to reduce the recent increase in the prices of the medicines.
Previously on September 24th, the government increased the rates of ninety-four important life-saving drugs.
Dr. Faisal Sultan Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health explained the hike in the prices by saying that the increased rates of 94 life-saving drugs by the DRAP was certain in order to guarantee the availability of the medicines.
