On Friday PM Khan said that the government is completely aware of Sindh’s development needs, especially of Karachi, and gave the assurance that the Centre would play its role in this regard.
He was heading a meeting for reviewing the progress of the different projects in Karachi. The meeting was attended by Asad Umar and Murad Saeed among others. Imran Ismail, the governor of the province Sindh also took part in the meeting via a video link from Karachi.
PM Khan was told about the current situation in the city by the governor Imran Ismail. He was further told that a plan was being formulated to solve the water and sewerage problems of the city.
The governor of Sindh told the participants that the concerned authorities were asked to conduct the relief operations in the city. He also said that he has spoken to the CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali about the situation in Karachi after the heavy rains of Thursday. He also gave assurance to the government of Sindh of the support of the federal government.
PM Khan emphasized that Karachi was a significant part of the country and all its problems would be resolved soon.
The meeting was called amid the massive destruction in the city in wake of the record-breaking rains that have affected the city adversely nearly the entire week.
