On Sunday the federal government has approved a hike of Rs6 in petrol and high-speed diesel prices.
According to the reports, Rs6 increase in the petrol prices was approved by the government for a litre of petrol and Rs3 surge per litre was approved for the high-speed diesel and kerosene oil after a summary was presented by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday.
The OGRA has asked for a surge of Rs11.92 per litre for petrol, Rs6.65 for kerosene oil and Rs11.17 for diesel.
After the surge in the petrol prices, the price of petroleum has reached Rs99.34. The new prices would come into effect from today.

Earlier it was reported that owing to the changes in oil and petroleum product prices worldwide the prices of these products were to surge by 12.8percent for the month of April 2019.
On the other hand, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started preparations for the special Hajj flights.
The national carrier has taken the decision to operate Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 aircrafts during the phase-wise operations for providing ease to the 65,000 pilgrims, in 300 schedules and special flights.
