It has been reported that the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs announced to start refunding process of the money to the pilgrims who had registered themselves for Hajj 2020 under the scheme announced by the government of Pakistan from Thursday.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that the funds would be doled out through the designated bank branches across the country.
He said that the successful Hajj applicants who registered themselves through the government’s scheme are being informed about the payment of their amount through mobile phone messages.
It is pertinent to mention here that the religious ministry has decided to refund the government Hajj scheme charges following the decision made by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to exclude pilgrims out of the country from performing Hajj this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, on June 23, Dr. Mohammad Saleh bin Taher Benten—the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom had telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Pir Dr. Noorul Haq Qadri and formally conveyed the decision made by the Saudi government of holding Hajj with very limited pilgrims this year.
