On Saturday, the Federal government made an announcement of a six-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
Official notification was issued by the Ministry of interior according to which from 22nd May to 27th May will public holidays for the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The notification also said that all public places, shops, community markets, and other business will remain closed during these holidays.
Only the essential shops and medical stores will be open.
Pakistan Meteorological Department announced on 12th May that, Eid-ul-Fitr, which is an Islamic occasion and concludes the fasting month of Ramadan is likely to fall on the 25th of May.
The weather department says that there are very fewer chances of sighting of Shawwal moon on the evening of 23rd May. The crescent will be born at 10:39 pm on the 28th of Ramadan.
Up till now, it is being predicted that Eid-ul-Fitr will most likely fall on the 25th of May. The Pakistan Meteorological Department added that the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will assemble on May 23rd for moon sighting.
