According to the media reports, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been penned down to provide the interest-free loans for the construction purpose of the homes under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme launched by the PTI-led federal government of Pakistan.
As per the details, the MoU was signed by the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency and Akhuwat—an Islamic micro-finance organization.
The MoU was signed by the Director-General PHTPA Nadeem Sarwar and Akhuwat Chief Dr Amjad Saqib.
The ceremony was attended by the Housing Minister of Punjab Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed and the Secretary Housing Nadeem Mehboob.
The minister expressed his pleasure over the signing of the MoU while saying that the loan of Rs0.5 million will be provided to the owners of the three marla plot holders to construct a home.
On July 11, 2019, PM Khan had laid the foundation stone of a new phase of Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in Islamabad’s Zone 4.
