Traders on Sunday called upon the district administration to control the rising transport fares after a recent increase in CNG prices. The traders are complaining about transporters that have unilaterally increased local and inter-city route fares.
In this regard a joint meeting of Khattak Itehad and Anjuman-e-tajiran Karak city was held in Karak in which the decision was taken, president of Khattak Itehad Khursheed Sultan Khattak presided the meeting.
All the participants in the meeting expressed their concerns about a sudden increase in CNG prices and unilateral fare surge by transporters which created worries among traders. They said the transporters have increased fares without consulting the district administration.
The traders called upon the authorities to call for a meeting of transporters and revise the local and inter-district fares.
The traders said they do not accept this unilateral unfair increase in fares and they will stage a protest in this regard.
The traders have provided a one-week deadline to resolve this issue, otherwise, they will go on strike in the coming weeks.
