As we approach the mid of Ramadan, the people of Pakistan look forward to the highly anticipated holidays of Eid ul Fitr. We count days, hope that the holidays don’t come on weekend and start planning activities for the festival.
Well, well, all of you can relax because the government has announced Eidul Fitr 2017 holidays and they are not coming on weekend.
The three day holidays announced by the government are from June 26th to June 28th which is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So your holidays can start by the end of Friday 23 June and end on Wednesday 28 June.
It is expected that Eid ul Fitr would most likely fall on June 26 or 27.
The two Eid situation in Pakistan would most likely continue this year as well. In FATA and certain areas of KPK Ramadan started on May 27th a day before the rest of the country. They followed Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai’s announcement on sighting of moon.

The rest of the country followed Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman’s announcement and so their first fast started on Sunday May 28th.
The difference in opinions within the nation has resulted in people of various districts conducting Ramadan and Eid on different days. We can hope that one day the whole Pakistani nation would stand as one, start Ramadan and celebrate Eid together.
