The government is planning to issue health cards to everyone in the upcoming two years. The aim of issuing health cards is to ensure that basic health facilities are given to the people.
The Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza said that people having physical disabilities will be treated for free.
While addressing a press conference, Dr. Zafar Mirza said, “The government will bear the expenses. This decision was taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan.”

Presently, health cards are available to people in 43 districts. The Special Assistant to PM was asked why the people living in Sindh are not provided with similar facilities. To this, he replied that due to lack of cooperation in Sindh government, this has not been the case.
He said, “We will not turn a blind eye towards this.”
He said that programs worth Rs.190 billion are part of the Ehsaas program. Dr. Mirza revealed that the government paid for the gall bladder operation of a woman in Thar via this scheme.
Health cards will enable the treatment of angioplasties, brain surgery and cancer free of cost. Affordable healthcare facilities will be provided to 150 million families.
