Government Giving Free Medical Services Via Health Cards

Saira Afzal Tarar—Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination said that the government is keen on providing quality health services to the people at their doorsteps. Owing to this reason people could get free medical facilities using Health Cards.

During an event organised under the Prime Minister Health programme, she expressed her thoughts while talking as a chief guest at Health Card distribution ceremony.

She added that the poor people could avail good quality health services via using health cards at any private hospital on the panel under the programme for free.

The minister further mentioned that the government has improved the standards of the public hospitals to become compatible with the standards of private hospitals.

The health card programme was the vision of the ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, which has now become the largest welfare project in Asia, Ms Saira informed.

She added that nobody could raise a finger at the conduct of the project which costs billions of rupees.

The health card holders could avail the free treatment health care facilities for all types of ailments like cancer, delivery cases and heart issues. She added that even the transportation expenses of the patients to and from the hospital and then from the hospital back to home would also be taken care by the government.

Ms Saira said that health is one segment that is under consideration for betterment, the federal government has taken good steps to assemble resources, regulate the health division and to coordinate with all the provinces for acquiring mutual goals and standardized facilities.

The ceremony was attended by the office bearers, PML-N parliaments, district administration high-ups and few others attended the ceremony.
