It has been decided by the federal government to dissolve the Ministry of Energy. In its place, it has been suggested to develop two separate ministers for power petroleum divisions.
The sources claimed that the summary of the decision has been prepared. It will be presented before the federal cabinet on 30th April. The next cabinet session will take place 30th April in which its summary will be presented and the Energy ministry will be officially dissolved.
It is pertinent to mention here that back in 2017 the Ministry of Energy was established by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Earlier Ministry of Water and Power was a federal ministry in the country.
The PML-N government dissolved it and merged water division with Ministry of Water Resources and power division was moved to the Ministry of Energy. Now the Ministry of Energy will be dissolved and two separate ministries will be established for power and petroleum divisions.
Once the summary is approved, the amendment will be made in the Rules of Business. Whether dissolving the ministeries and making two different entities will prove beneficial for the country or not, time will tell.
