Google Mobile App is Getting a Dark Mode

app

Google mobile app is getting a dark mode. Android and iOS users can enable this feature by the end of the week.

The app will automatically use the theme your OS is set if you use Android or iOS 13, following the update. As per Google, the feature is rolling out today, however globally it will be available by the end of the week. You can go to the app’s settings to manually switch between the light and dark mode. This is what users on older operating systems need to do.

Google SearchLiaison tweeted, “Starting today & fully rolling out this week, dark mode is now available for the Google App on Android 10 and iOS 12/13. By default, the Google App will reflect your device’s system settings in Android 10 & iOS 13. If that’s set to a dark theme, the app will be in dark mode….”

If the dark mode is available on your phone, you might see a pop-up at the bottom of your screen. It will highlight that a dark mode theme is available. It will ask you whether you want to activate it.

The full launch of the dark mode on all Google Apps has been slow. Dark Mode has been added to Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Fit. However, a few apps of Google, like Google Maps has still not received dark mode support.
