Google Chrome 79 update resumes after fixing data bug

Android clients would now be able to update their Chrome program without stressing that it would influence their different applications. Google has continued Chrome 79’s rollout for the stage after a bug constrained the group to put it on hold. Clients announced that the update “wiped” information from outsider applications that utilize the WebView system, however, the tech giant clarified that it didn’t really delete anything – it simply made their data undetectable.

A Google representative said the fixed update is advancing toward individuals’ gadgets inside this week and will make influenced clients’ information visible to WebView-based applications once more. In this specific situation, being one of the first to get the update was certifiably not something worth being thankful for: Google said it had the option to delay the update’s arrangement before it arrived at 15 per cent of the clients it should. The representative said in an announcement:

“The M79 update to Chrome and WebView on Android devices was suspended after detecting an issue in WebView where some users’ app data was not visible within those apps. This app data was not lost and will be made visible in apps when we deliver an update this week. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

This release contains the following features, as well as stability and performance improvements:

  • Password safety: When you sign in to a website, Chrome can now warn you if your password was previously exposed in a data breach

  • Reorder bookmarks: Drag bookmarks into place, or tap a bookmark’s options menu and select Move up or Move down
