Google and Microsoft Canceled Two Industry Conferences

Google and Microsoft have decided to cancel two industry conferences. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Google has canceled Cloud Next in San Francisco while Microsoft has canceled the MVP Summit in the Seattle suburbs of Bellevue and Redmond.

Google has said that it will make its Cloud Next conference, an enterprise-focused meetup. Its focus will be on G Suite and other cloud computing tools and by attendees the largest Google conference, into a “digital-first” event. Also, Microsoft is planning a similar MVP Summit.

Google in a statement said, “We are transforming the event into Google Cloud Next ’20: Digital Connect, a free, global, digital-first, multi-day event connecting our attendees to Next ’20 content and each other through streamed keynotes, breakout sessions, interactive learning and digital ‘ask an expert’ sessions with Google teams.”

Google was planning Cloud Next event at San Francisco’s Moscone Center from April 6th to April 8th. But now Google will refund the cost of the ticket for the event and hotel stay. Also, all the registered attendees will get access to the digital version of the event.

The MVP Summit of Microsoft is a networking event for its Most Valuable Professional program. Also now the Microsoft event will transit to a virtual version. It will take place from 16th to 20th March.
