After a fall of Rs. 800 in the global gold market, the price of gold per tola in Pakistan came to Rs. 114,200.
According to the All Sindh Sarafah and Jewelers Association, the price of gold per tola in the local market fell by Rs. 800 to Rs. 114,200 on Thursday, September 17, while 10 grams of gold fell by Rs. 686 to Rs 97,908. Thus, 10 grams of gold 22 carats reached 89,750 rupees, The News reported.
In the first week of August 2020, the price of gold per tola in Pakistan had reached Rs. 132,000.
During the Coronavirus outbreak, people turned to gold for investment, which led to a steady rise in the price of gold around the world. The gold prices have been gradually increasing since March. In the global market, gold per ounce fell by $16 to $1949. Earlier, gold prices in the international market had reached a record level of $2,054.
According to the data released by the Money Changers Association, the price of silver has not changed. At present, the price of silver per tola is Rs. 1320 while the price per 10 grams is Rs. 1131. In Pakistan, on July 1, 2020, the price of gold per tola was Rs. 105,200, while in the local market, on January 1, 2020, the price of gold was Rs. 88,150.
