Gmail Experiencing Outage And Down Time In Europe

Google doesn’t seem to have had a very good New Year’s Eve. After the general outage in December of all its services, Google seems to be having problems with Gmail again. Many users have reported problems accessing Gmail, especially on Twitter.

The specialist site DownDetector also notes problems with Gmail, but the number of reports for the last 24 hours shows that this is not a generalized outage. There are still enough of them to illustrate the problem that the mail service is currently experiencing. The major problems have been received from various parts of Europe including the UK, France, Italy, Germany and others.

Nothing indicates for the moment what is the source of this failure. After a first peak on the night of January 19 to 20, we imagine that Google will actively work to fix the problem. The drop in reports between midnight and 7 a.m. European time seems above all to be an illustration of the drop in Gmail traffic at night in France, rather than an end of a blackout. North America does not appear to have been affected by the problem.
