Following the orders of the supreme court, on Wednesday the government of Gilgit-Baltistan decided to ease the coronavirus lockdown restriction till Eid-Ul-Fitr.
A spokesperson of the Gilgit Baltistan government said that it has been decided by the government to ease the restriction till Eid. The decision was finalized in a session of the provincial cabinet under the chair of Hafeezur Rehman Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan.
Once the Eid festival ends then the provincial government will review its decision for the imposition of lockdown.
However, the government did not end the restrictions on organizing sports competition still the province decided to open all public parks.
But the hotels and restaurants will still be closed until any further orders. All education institutions will also remain closed till the 15th of July, decided the cabinet.
On Wednesday, twenty-three new cases have been reported which took the tally to 579, told the health department of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The health department further informed that up till now four people have lost their lives and twelve of the patients have been recovered so far.
On the other hand in Saudi Arabia, the grand mufti Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh released a decree which said that the Eid prayer can be offered at home under certain conditions.
