Gilgit-Baltistan Govt. Decides to Close all Educational Institutions till Nov 23


On Tuesday, the government of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to close down all educational institutions from the 17th of November till 23rd November as a precautionary measure towards the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Director Schools of Gilgit-Baltistan while talking to a journalist said that many schools were being used as polling stations during the recent elections and many people visited the schools in order to vote. According to him, the government decided to close the institutes for the purpose of disinfection.

According to the details, the education officer said that all safety measures will be taken in order to control the spread of COVID-19 by using the spray. He further declared that all educational institutes will be resumed all over the province on the 24th of November.

Previously on November 16th, the COVID-19 cases increased more as 2,128 new coronavirus cases were discovered within twenty-four hours.

As per the NCOC (National Command and Operation Center), the newly reported coronavirus cases raised the national tally to 359, 032.

Currently, the active cases in Pakistan have risen up to 28, 048. In the last 24 hours, nine more people lost the battle against coronavirus. Now, death has reached up to 7, 160.
