Apple has finally released the iOS 15 today. The new operating system brings many new features to iOS operated devices, including Apple smartwatches. Besides this new OS, some of Apple’s smartwatches have started getting the latest watchOS 8. That includes Apple Watch Series 3 and later.
One of the most-awaited features that iOS 15 brings is the Focus mode. For Apple smartwatches, this Focus mode will automatically align with the settings. This OS now supports multiple timers.
With the redesigned Music app, you can now find and listen to music and radio all in the same place. This new feature will also allow users to share tunes, albums, and playlists in the Music app through Messages and Mail.
Interestingly, with the watchOS 8, you can digitally store your Drivers License in the Apple Watch’s Wallet. Moreover, you may unlock your front door, office, and hotel room with the Wallet app.
WatchOS 8 also adds the Find My app and the Contacts app.
With the new OS, the Apple Watch will measure your respiratory rate while you’re sleeping. You’ll also get more accurate calorie information and the Breathe feature with the new Mindfulness.
To install this new update on your Apple smartwatch (Apple Watch Series 3 or later), follow these steps:
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Go to Control > Software Update
- Follow the directions to download and install watchOS 8.
While downloading, place your smartwatch near a Wi-Fi-powered iPhone with at least 50% of battery life. Please make sure the watch is on its dock and remain there until the update is complete.
