On Monday, Retired General Asim Saleem Bajwa declared that he has resigned as SAPM (Special Assistant to Prime Minister) on Information and Broadcasting.
General Bajwa on his twitter account wrote that he has requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to abandon him from the additional portfolio of SAPM on Information and Broadcasting. Also, PM Khan very kindly approved his request.
However, he will still be serving as the chairman of the CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) Authority.
The reports added that Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa tried to resign as the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting but Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected his resignation. He put forth his resignation to the Prime Minister on the 4th of September which got refused and Asim Bajwa was asked to perform his duties for the Prime minister.
As per the sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan was satisfied with the evidence and clarification which General Asim Saleem Bajwa has provided about the assets charges flattened against him and his family.
On the other hand, Pakistani Batsman Shoaib Malik becomes the first Asian and third overall to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket.
