Gas Supply would remain suspended on the 28th Of December 2017 that is Thursday in Lahore, as informed by the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) to its customers.
As per the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited—Lahore Division, the gas supply would remain shut off for a span of twenty-four hours, starting from 1 am on the 28th of December till 1 am on December 29. The gas suspension would be experienced because of the continual construction work happening on the Orange Line Metro Train project.
Orange Line Train is another major project started by the mutual corporation of Pakistan and China back in 2014. The project is nearing its final stages of completion. The project is financed by the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It is anticipated to be the most advanced and creative type of rail-based mass transit system—with the expectation of transporting two lacs fifty thousand travellers in a single day.
The areas that would be affected by the gas suspension would be Abbott Road, Mayo Hospital, Diyal Singh Mansion, Ganga Ram Hospital, Qila Gujar Singh, Gawalmandi, Nisbet Road, Lawrence Road, Royal Park, Queen’s Road, Avari Hotel, Mall Road, Governor House, Mozang, Assembly Hall, Davis Road, Canal Bank and some other areas.
The SNGPL has asked its customers to make some alternate arrangements during the gas shutdown.
As we all know that the winter weather is in full swing—meaning cold which means more need of warmer stuff, in this scenario gas supply suspension would not be a pleasing thing for the Lahoris.
It is a thoughtful gesture by the organization to inform beforehand to the end users so that they may think up of some other options during the gas supply suspension period.
