Gas bills could now be paid in 15 days.
The government has taken the decision and has announced to surge the gas bill payment duration from 7 to 15 days, as per the local media reports on Thursday.
Nadeem Babar—the Adviser to the PM on Petroleum Division in a press conference said that the department would ensure the delivery of gas bills within the span of 48 hours from the day they are issued. Then the consumers would have to pay the bill within the span of 15 days since the day of bill issuance.
He also told media that from the month of September, an awareness drive about the consumption of gas would be launched for a few months.
In the campaign, people would be informed regarding the appropriate quantity of gas that is to be used for geysers. He added that if people would ask then they would even fix their geysers.
It has been made mandatory to provide gas connections to the industries within 30 days, as per the Adviser.
Nadeem Babar also said that a new policy about the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been formed which would be announced in the month to come.
He added that the petroleum departments of the present government would not provide LPG on the basis of the quota system but would rather adopt an open transplant litre system.
He also said that the production of LPG could be increased and that they are working on it.
