Gaddafi stadium in Lahore would be turning pink during the 3rd T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka for raising awareness regarding the breast cancer.
As per a press release by the cricket board a ceremony would be held before the third T20I between Pakistan and Sir Lanka, which would be attended by the President Dr Arif Alvi and the Chairperson of the Pakistan Cricket Board—Ehsan Mani.
The statement further read that the president would pin pink ribbons on both the team captains, while players and the match officials would don the ribbons during the match span.
It was also mentioned that the stumps for the last T20I of the current series would be branded in pink whereas the sponsors of the series would also be changing the colours of their brands in the ground to pink.
The cricket board has asked the fans to wear the pink for supporting the cause.
The PCB stated that Pakistan has got the highest number of breast cancer cases amongst all the Asian nations and this step is a part of the #PINKtober, which is the breast cancer awareness both.
It further added that one out of every woman is at a high risk of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. But if the cancer is detected at an early stage, the chances of survival surges more than 90percent.
