Asad Umar, the federal minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives has announced that the petroleum prices have slashed globally in March and the fuel prices in Pakistan will be going down in April if the trend continues, as per the reports of local media.
He also said that the fuel prices are announced on a per month basis and the benefit of the lower fuel prices would be transferred to the masses by the next month.
He further added that it is just days since the fuel prices have witnessed a reduction and if this trend is to continue for the complete month of March then the government would be announcing relief for the month of April. He also said that the novel coronavirus has affected the world economy and it is likely to impact the growth of the country, especially in the export sector.
On the other hand, as per the latest news regarding the coronavirus that has affected every other nation across the world, the Civil Aviation Authority has taken the decision of setting up a quarantine facility at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi.
Besides, they have taken another decision and that is of properly screening the arriving passengers at the airport, as an effective preventive measure against the coronavirus.
The passengers landing at the Jinnah International Airport would be transported to the established quarantine in case of any emergency.
