France is interested to work with Pakistan for promoting women higher education.
French Ambassador Martine Dorance visited Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) in Peshawar and said that she will discuss with her own government and Pakistan’s government to collaborate and work to improve and enhance female education in Pakistan.
She shared that the government of both the countries are interested to cooperate in different programs specifically in promoting higher education in the country.
She said that once both the countries collaborate in higher education further more opportunities can be explored as well. Women should be considered equal to men for a country to grow and develop.
Furthermore, she informed that even in France the duty of teaching children is women’s responsibility even if they work. France does receive a number of students from Pakistan every year and they expect to receive even more. She said that they have discussed with Higher Education Commission chairman that more women students would be encouraged to study in France.
Professor Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor SBBWU Peshawar said that their university is not just providing higher education to women but also encouraging them to choose their careers. Girls after acquiring education should choose their career path and not sit at home. Contribution to country’s development and the economy is the responsibility of women as well.
