The local administration of the federal capital of Islamabad on Thursday imposed a smart lockdown in four sub-sectors of Islamabad to protect the residents from carrying novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in prevailing high-risk situation in these areas.
As the number of deaths due to the deadly virus in the federal capital of Islamabad reached 90, the health authorities have decided to seal as many as four sub-sectors of the capital city to prevent the further spread of the virus amongst the citizens in the specified areas.
As per the details shared by the officials, as many as 411 people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Sector I-8, and 427 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the Sector I-10.
Earlier the sector G-9 in the capital was sealed after 430 cases were tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the local administration decided to lockdown two sub sectors there as well.
Hamza Shafqat—the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad said that the decision to seal G-9/2 and G-9/3 along with the sector’s markiz, commonly known as Karachi Company, was taken in response to the recommendations made by the District Health Office.
Earlier residents of all sub-sectors were given enough time to make the necessary arrangements and obtain essential items, while the administration also made arrangements during this period.
