Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as MS Dhoni was criticized by the Indian cricket fans and pundits on Monday for his poor strike rate in final overs in the world cup 2019 match against England.
While chasing a total of 338, Indian Cricket Team was needing 71 runs from the last five overs of the match against the English Cricket Team on Sunday at Edgbaston, with the best hitter of Indian team Dhoni and Jadhav at the crease.
But the former captain of the Indian cricket team Dhoni and Jadhav added just 39, scrambling singles and unable to chase the target with five wickets remaining and facing the first loss of the Cricket World Cup 2019.
MS Dhoni was unbeatable on 42 off 31 deliveries.
“Disappointed finish. A run-a-ball partnership can’t win games,” Harsha Bhogle, a cricket commentator tweeted after the poor performance by the former skipper of the Indian team.
Former Indian cricket player, Sanjay Manjreker called MS Dhoni’s approach to the few overs ‘baffling’. On the other hand, Saurab Ganguly—the former captain of the Indian cricket team said MS Dhoni could offer no explanation for his ex-teammates’ tame batting.
