PIA had been seeking advice from foreign experts for some time now, in this regard a delegation of the foreign team is arriving in Pakistan on Monday to chalk out a five-year corporate business plan for the national carrier.
As per details, the four-member team is arriving in Pakistan today on the invitation of Adviser to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr Ishrat Hussain, the team will stay in Pakistan for 15 days.
The four-member team will conduct a comprehensive business model review and also meet the high echelon government officials at the finance ministry including Dr Hussain, senior government officials and the airline’s CEO, Arshad Malik.
PIA’s spokesperson confirmed that the foreign team would be arriving in Pakistan on Monday, February 22. They will go through a business plan for the airline to make it profitable and sustainable in the near future. “We will be following the government’s directives on restructuring and reforms in the airline,” the spokesman added.
Dr Hussain is currently the in-charge of supervising the reforms going on in PIA and in this context consultants had been invited to advise on the restructuring plan for Pakistan International Airlines.
It was reported that, Back in November 2019, the airline had sought the services of a reputed international firm with extensive aviation consulting experience to prepare a five-year corporate business plan through a tender. The objective was to make the PIA a leading international airline and enable it to play an important role in Pakistan’s economy.
