After reaching Kabul, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a meeting with his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atmar and discussed bilateral relations, the Afghan peace process, and regional peace and security situation.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi noted that Pakistan has always considered the dialogue process more productive for matters relating to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The FM added that the world is finally recognizing Pakistan’s stance in the peace process.
Back in Pakistan, DG-ISPR also notified that COAS discussed the peace situation with the US official. Ms. Angela Aggeler – the US Charge d’ Affaires – appreciated the role Pakistan is playing in maintaining peace in the region and Afghanistan.
The FM is on a visit to Afghanistan with PM Imran Khan along with other officials. There, upon their arrival, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani presented a guard of honor at the presidential palace.
