For the first time in the history of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been allowed to operate the direct flights to the United States.
According to the details, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the national airline Air Marshal Arshad Malik wrote a letter to the ambassador of the United States (US) and the State Department seeking permission to operate the special flights of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to repatriate Pakistani nationals stranded in the United States of America.
The details said that the permission was granted by the Transport Department of the United States on the request made by Pakistan to repatriate its stranded nationals in the US.
As per the details of the permission granted by the US authorities, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) can operate as many as 12 special flights during the period of a month to bring the Pakistani nationals back from the US.
The spokesperson of the national airline of Pakistan said that the permission was granted to Pakistan by the US authorities after the improvement in the security situation.
The CEO Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Ministry, and Aviation Ministry for taking the issue with the United States (US).
