During the last rain spell in Karachi, the Foodpanda riders were spotted helping the citizens in escaping the urban floods. For this heroic gesture, the CEO of the company rewarded the riders with appreciation gifts and certificates.
The latest rain spell of the monsoon season paralyzed the port city completely. Power supply got suspended, all sorts of connectivity went down, people got trapped in their houses due to urban flooding and many people lost their loved ones.
Many videos came out showing the citizens helping each other in the crises. Videos also showed Foodpanda riders helping the people in escaping the flood.
The riders received a lot of appreciation from the people through comments and videos. The gesture of the riders showed the values which the company instills in its teams.
One of the riders shared his experience by saying that the water was gushing down the streets and our bikes and bags were soaked in water. There was no way out so we spent that time helping others. According to him, there were many people on the road helping each other in the crises
Another rider also shared his side of the story. He said that we rescued a car completely drowned till the roof. The rider expressed his feelings by saying that helping people in such crises made us realize that we also need blessings of others apart from just your family.
The management of Foodpanda invited all those riders to the headquarters where they were rewarded with appreciation certificates and gifts.
Nauman Sikander CEO Foodpanda said that the reason behind calling all these riders to the HQs was to appreciate their action and encourage their gesture nation-wide.
