On Wednesday, news came out that the flour prices have increased in Karachi twice this week.
According to the reports, flour for around 2.5 kg is being sold at Rs59 now after the increase of Rs2 per kg in Karachi.
Moreover, Chaudhry Aamir Abdullah President Flour Mills Association says that even though the provincial government is obtaining 1.2million metric tons of wheat, but still they not providing flour to the mills.
According to the President Flour Mills, the prices of the flour can be decreased by Rs5 to 6 per kg if the Sindh Government cooperates.
Previously on August 31, Hari Ram kishori Lal Sindh Food Minister announced that the flour mills on the department’s list will be provided with wheat stocks on subsidized rates very soon.
Hari Ram Kishori Lal further added that the department has enough reserves of wheat and the flour companies and the millers existing on the list will get the stocks on cheap rates.
According to him, after dispatching the stocked wheat on subsidized rates, there will be no shortage faced by the traders and the consumers.
