The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced a complete suspension of flight operations for all the local and international airlines throughout Pakistan until further orders, as per media reports.
A notification has been issued by the aviation authority about the suspension of flights and the closure of aerial frontiers.
Passengers were told about this that the airspace closure is also implied on the flights coming from Saudi Arabia other than the flights operating in the United Kingdom, the Middle East region and Europe.
The spokesperson of CAA said that flight operations were resumed for some time as 2 Muscat and Dubai-bound flights have departed on Wednesday from Karachi.
Earlier on Wednesday, the flight operations were suspended at the airports of all the major cities including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad keeping in view the present emergency situation.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson said that Lahore to Oslo flight PK-571 and Islamabad to Manchester flight PK-701 have been halted at the airports.
All international and domestic flights have been suspended at the Allama Iqbal International Airport—Lahore.
Indian media has also reported the suspension of flights in Occupied Kashmir and in Punjab of India bordering with Pakistan. The civilian air traffic has been suspended at the Srinagar airport, sources revealed.
Indian authorities have grounded all their civilian aircrafts, as per the reports.
