The topmost Islamic council of Pakistan has announced the amount of Sadqa-e-Fitr and Fidya on Saturday, which is mandatory for every Muslim to pay before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.
As per the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman—Mufti Muneeb-Ur-Rehman, the minimum amount of Sadqa-e-Fitr and Fidya have been set hundred rupees (Rs 100) per person for the current year that is 2018.
The head of the family is to pay the amount of rupees hundred on behalf of each of the dependents.

Regarding oats, the amount of Fitrana in numbers would be rupees two hundred and forty (Rs 240) and the amount of dates and raisins would be rupees one thousand six hundred (Rs 1,600) and one thousand nine hundred and twenty (Rs 1,920) respectively.
During the last few years, the minimum amount of Sadqa-e-Fitr or Fitrana had remained set at rupees hundred per person.
Islam mandates upon all Muslims to pay the required sum of money before offering the Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers so that the needy people of the society could also utilize the money in times for their need.
Sadqa-e-Fitr or Fitrana is paid in the spirit of the holy month which encourages inclusivity and sharing. It is paid to the deserving people.
During the times of need, Muslim is expected to assist the fellow Muslims. Eid is a time of joy so one must remember to include the less privileged brethren in times of joy. This is one big reason for paying Fitrana. We all should make haste in paying it to the needy brethren as even a small amount could make a difference in others’ lives.
