The first ever pediatric dialysis unit in Punjab has opened up in Nishtar Hospital on Saturday. It has opened in ward 19, equipped with 6 beds. It was inaugurated jointly by Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Vice Chancellor Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha and a differently-abled girl Minhaj Maula.
Taarey Zameen Par, a non-governmental organization has donated two dialysis machines and an RO (reverse osmosis) plant and would further donate two machines after couple of months.
NMU VC Dr Mustafa spoke at the opening ceremony saying that Paediatric Dialysis Unit was another achievement by Nishtar Hospital.
The establishment of Pediatric Dialysis Unit is quite a commendable work done by hospital administration. They have also launched a sub-branch of blood collection center that would be sent by hospital transport services to Nishtar Laboratory. The tests conducted in the lab would be on basis of priority and results would be available after 40 minutes, online.
Other than this VC talked about how Nishtar Hospital has advanced within few months with 150 patients being treated in four operation theatres daily. Also Clean Nishtar Campaign has been initiated in which 1000 trees would be planted at Nishtar.
CEO Taaray Zameen Par, Fadia Kashif said that whatever their NGO was doing was for people and for sake of God.
