The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has organised first ever international dog show in the Hayatabad Sports Complex.
More than a hundred dogs’ admirers took part in the show via exhibiting more than 100 lineages of dogs.
Mohammad Asim Khan—the City District Nazim of Peshawar inaugurated the international event.
Besides a large number of men and women the other attendees of the show included Israr Khan—Secretary Livestock, Dr Masoom Shah—Director Livestock, Riaz Mehsud—Director Food Safety and Halal Food Authority and Dr Sher Mohammad—Director General (DG) Livestock.
While speaking on the occasion, the city district Nazim said that keeping pet animals is a good yet beneficial hobby.
The main attraction of the visitors were the rare species of dogs that were brought for exhibition to the show.
At the end of the ceremony Mohammad Asim Khan—the district Nazim of the city, Israr Khan—secretary livestock and the director general (DG) Livestock—Dr Sher Mohammad distributed cash prizes and shields among the show participants.
Shows of these types should be organized now and then as they impart an overall positive vibe of the society. Other than the usual hangout and fun places, activities like these bring out something other than the ordinary and hence keeps the people engaged and interested.
