Chief Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq of Lahore High Court (LHC) has inaugurated the first evening court in Lahore. It has been inaugurated at the Judicial complex. At the inauguration ceremony many civil judges, lawyers were present along with the Lahore Bar Association President Malik Arshad, Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman Bushra Qamar, District and Sessions Judge Lahore Abid Hussain Qureshi, Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan, Justice Athir Mahmood, Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabir, Justice Shakil-ur-Rehman Khan and Senior Civil Judge Lahore Shakeeb Imran.
This court will focus on those cases that involve minor’s custody. The aim is to provide a separate environment for the children of those parents who are separated or divorced and their cases are being heard in court.
S, for now,w the test project has been launched in Lahore. The evening court timings are 2 p.m to 7p.m. The project will soon be expanded to 36 other districts of Punjab.
LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq said that for past 40 years he has been associated with this profession. He said that he has worked in almost all kinds of courts and he is aware of the problems and hurdles faced as a lawyer and as a common man.
He said that after he took oath as the LHC CJ he tried to resolve the problems. Adding, “Whatever could have been improved, I have tried my level best to accomplish it.”
Improvements are being made in our judicial system so that it becomes easier for a common man to approach the court when he/she comes across a legal problem.
