First Electric Vehicle Charger Unit Launches in Islamabad


The first electric vehicle charging unit installs on the Jinnah Avenue in Islamabad. Earlier, Pakistan decided to shift its future transportation to Electric Vehicles.

This electric vehicle (EV) charging facility has been installed by Attock Oil, told Fawad Chaudhry Federal Minister for Science and Technology.

He announced the launch of the electric charging unit last week in a tweet. He further wrote in his tweet that the installation of the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations is an initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology to support Electric Vehicles as the country is aiming to shift to E vehicles in the future.

A policy came out regarding the shifting of Pakistan’s vehicles to electric power in the future. The policy got approved last month. Apart from the installation of electric vehicle charging units, the country will also establish the manufacturing units of Electric Vehicles (EV).

On the other hand, four special trains are going to be operated in Pakistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. The special trains operation aims to facilitate all travelers.
