The first 3D Zebra Crossing has been introduced in Lahore, Pakistan by the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore. The aim of the crossings is to increase awareness amongst people regarding road safety. The first crossings have been installed at the Mall Road, Lahore by the corporation.
Lahore Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman talked about the initiative and said that across Punjab the government will install 20 zebra crossings.
Ghuman said, “The main purpose of this project is to beautify the roads and increase the traffic awareness among masses.”

Furthermore, he said that this project will allow both walkers and motorists to use Zebra crossings properly. The commissioner revealed that these crossings have been developed by the authorities as per the global standards.
The aim of the government to launch this project has been to deal with the increasing traffic violations. Road accidents increased all over Pakistan due to the violation of traffic rules.
All over the world, 3D Zebra Crossings have been used for instance in Thailand, China, the USA, and the UK. These crossings create an automatic caution amongst the drivers.
In Pakistan, the Zebra crossings have gradually vanished. But now with the 3D crossings, hopefully, road safety would improve. It is anticipated that the government will apply this project in other parts of Pakistan as well.
