More than 100 complaints of internet banking fraud have been received by the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
An increase in the internet banking fraud has been witness after more people have started using the online banking system due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
According to the details shared by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), most of the complaints have come from Faisalabad and other parts of Punjab. The complainants claimed that many people are working in groups and they have been targeting women.
Most of the complaints were of people’s bank accounts being charged with online shopping or funds were transferred to the bank accounts of the other people.
The Federal Investigation Agency said that it is looking into the matter. The agency further said that a private bank has shared 50 suspicious numbers with them for investigation.
