The federal government is considering resuming train services and inter-provincial transport following easing restrictions on businesses. During the meeting of federal cabinet held on Tuesday this suggestion was made.
The federal cabinet members are in agreement to the suggestion of Prime Minister Imran Khan to permit transport services to resume operations countrywide.
PM Khan said that the federal government will consult with the experts and all the provincial government before making a final decision on the resumption of transport services.
Citizens have been urged by PM Khan to follow all the SOPs issued by the government. Also, the have been asked to take precautionary measures as the threat of coronavirus has not died down.
Earlier, it was also hinted by the Railways Minister that train operations will be restored partially in Pakistan. Back in March, the train and inter-provincial transport services were banned as the government imposed a lockdown in Pakistan to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
Also the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting, Asim Saleem Bajwa has asked for financial assistance from the federal government to undertake an advertising campaign and raise awareness in public about coronavirus.
Bajwa said that the government distributed billions of rupees amongst the needy without advertising it. He has suggested PM Khan to advertise the social welfare activities as it will help other people and encourage to help the underprivileged in these strange times.
